Daughter – Youth
Shadows settle on the place that you left
Our minds are troubles by the emptiness
Destroy the middle it’s a waste of time
From the perfect start to the finish line
And if you’re still breathing
You’re the lucky ones
Cuz most of us are heaving through corrupted lungs
Setting fire to our insides for fun
Collecting names of the lovers that went wrong
The lovers that went wrong
We are the reckless, we are the wild youth
Chasing visions of our futures
One day we’ll reveal the truth
That one will die before he gets there
And if yours still bleeding
You’re the lucky ones
Cuz most of us, our feelings they are dead and they are gone
Setting fire to our insides for fun
Collecting pictures from the flood that wrecked our home
It was a flood that wrecked this home
I’ve lost it all
I’m just a silhouette
Lifeless face that you’ll soon forget
And my eyes are damned from the words you left
Ringing in my head
When you broke my chest
Ringing in my head
When you broke my chest
And if you’re in love
Than you are the lucky ones
Cuz most of us are bitter someone
Setting fire to our insides for fun
To distract our hearts from ever missing them
But I’m forever missing him
And you caused it
And you caused it

Here's another Bobby song that's off of his Backing Singer EP. He plays it live a little different, so this might not be exactly like what you're hearing on the EP. Also, like always, there's one line I can't get.
The River’s Long – Bobby Long
I walked home empty with the sultry drink
I tossed a coin out to the icy pond
I tripped and fell upon the icy curb
The road is short but the river’s long
I drew my eye onto a woman’s smile
Who told a man that I was runnin’ her down
Who told his friend that I was speaking out
So they put me into the ground
On and on they would go
Destroying me cruelly
Taking off all my clothes
Way back in the day
Turn me all upside down
Screaming in laughter
I was screaming in pain
I didn’t want to be there
They found me covered with head to toe
??Wild arriving like some wild ghost??
Any day I would lose the fight
But it would hurt my family the most
She was heavy and the boys were grim
Shavin head case with a smile turned foul
Who didn’t know that they were bad and wrong
The road is short but the river’s long
On and on they would go
Destroying me cruelly
Taking off all my clothes
Way back in the day
Turn my all upside down
Screaming in anger
I was screaming in pain
I didn’t want to be there
They turn themselves in like some western film
It’s another highway that they can’t walk down
Sitting over on the misty gored
The road is short but the river’s long

Here's some Marcus. Here's a good video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FMXd84D VPk
Old Birch Tree – Marcus Foster
I will tell all the crooked worms in my grave
‘Save the eyes’
‘Save the eyes’
I will cover all the winding paths on which you pave
Fallen sky
Fallen sky
And if I tie up my troubles to the old birch tree
If I don’t chop down, don’t chop it down
I will throw all the stones in the shore at the raging sea,
Until it’s dry
Until it’s dry
And I will let all the hundred faces in the street
Pass me by
Pass me by
But if you wanna sell away your sorrows
Then save some for me
I will keep them from growing in the ground
And if I tie up my troubles to the old birch tree
If I don’t chop it down, don’t chop down
If you wanna sell away your sorrows
Then save some for me
I will keep them from growing in the ground
If I tie up me trouble to the old birch tree

So livejournal wouldn't let me log into this account for a really long time, which made me really depressed, but anyway, not that anyone reads this anymore. Here's a new song of Bobby's, it's rumored to be written for his sister, which is probably why I love it so much. Anyway if you don't have his new Backing Singer ep you should get it now, because it's better than the album *gasp* and it's only 5 songs. (Obviously there's a word that I managed to not be able to transcribe, if anybody knows it let me know.
These Boats - Bobby Long
There’s nothing in the bird that makes it sing
There’s nothing in the sun to give it light
There’s nothing like a ship to help me float
Or the docks to keep me awake at night
Time is gonna roll if we stand still
The earth is gonna move if we lie down
There’s nothing like a ship to help me float
Or a tidal wave to help me drown
But I’ll wait for you here
Since you cannot stand in fear
If I’ve left a ?river/rift? I’ve gone
These boats will take you home
I shredded up the copies of your Bible
I had the words in my head
noah had the flood and you had your demon
Everyone’s got something comin around
Nothing like the phone calls you gave to me
Woken up early with the early bird
There’s nothing like a ship to help me float
Or a tidal wave to help me drown
But I’ll wait for you here
Since you cannot stand in fear
If I’ve left a ?river/rift? I’ve gone
These boats will take you home

Here's a new one from Mr. Marcus Foster. This is the video I attempted the lyrics from, it's the second song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmRwgoky ESI&feature=player_embedded
I Don’t Need to Lose you
Blood remembers the sword
Sky remembers the bird
Light leaks the color of gold on her back
As she’s silently mumbling why
Mumbling why
Maps have forgotten the street
Mirrors forgotten the sand
There’s a side of her soul I don’t want to meet
She just quietly lays out her hand
Lays out her hand
As I walk through this world tearing down
Of 10,000 moments of doubt in my mind
Your footsteps define what you’re leaving behind
They don’t tell me which way to go
But I don’t know to lose you to know
I don’t need to lose you to know
If I’m poor and I’m blind
?For some signs?
Don’t need to lose you to know
Well the rivers pretending to flow
The clouds are pretending to fall
You count all the sounds in the nighttime
Takes off the day since she’s was born
Since she was born
As I walk through this world tearing down
There are 10,000 moments of doubt in my mind
Your footsteps define what you’re leaving behind
They don’t tell me which way to go
But I don’t know to lose you to know
I don’t need to lose you to know
If I’m caught and I’m blinded
?For some sign?
I Don’t need to lose you to know
I Don’t Need to Lose you

Staring Out - Original
Staring out on my backyard
Staring out to the sky
Hoping one day I just might leave this old backyard behind.
Staring out on my background,
Staring out to the sky
For I’ve been here, 17 long years.
And I can still remember
My mom in the garden
this heart that’s been hardened
And all my adolescent fears
Staring out to the sky
Staring out to the sky
Summer’s quickly fading
And it’s time for me to go
My life’s been jaded
Trying to learn to let go.
And it’s alright for me to cry
It’s alright for me to fly
Staring out to the sky
Staring out to the sky.

I thought I'd write one of my own songs on here. It's pretty new, I wrote it like 3 weeks ago. Hope you enjoy:

There’s always gonna be a dollar that isn’t mine
There’s always gonna be a boy who’s tired of wasting his time
There’s always gonna be a girl, who’s never quite sure
But my god if I haven’t had enough of this tired old world
So tell me
What happened to the days when nothing felt wrong
What happened to the nights strung together by a song
What happened to the hopes and the dreams upon the sea
Whatever happened to everything
And me
I’m never gonna find a place where I fit perfectly
You’re never gonna find the man you want so desperately
I’m always gonna be the one to insecure
But my god I’m so tired of this sorry old world
So tell me:
What happened to the days when nothing felt wrong
What happened to the nights strung together by a song
What happened to the hopes and the dreams upon the sea
Whatever happened to everything
And me

There's a few lines I really can't tell. If you guys think you know, then let me know, and I can change it. But here's Bobby's new song he just played today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2CynmBB NdU&feature=player_embedded
Darling I Remember the Drink – Bobby Long
I can’t remember the time
At the bar where you left me
But I remember the smell and the plague
Whiskey ran through me like a crimson shade ….
My heart steady as you scratched up my face
You wished me well
With some look in your eye
I just didn’t have the time to think
I can’t recall the reason why you threw me
But darling I remember the drink
A bum threw you back to my home in the alley
As the breath pattered the windows your teeth shown
Piss of the bottle by my father and mother
Lifted me up to the song
Beyond the something, something, the laughable
Pushed my soul to the brink
I don’t remember the song
Or you screamin’
Darling I remember the drink
I didn’t know how to control myself
Not knowing if you were someone else
Doesn’t mean I was hiding or out of my face
You made sure this would be our last resting place
You tortured my eye as you cried out to me
Baby you can hold on to that ring
I tear the bar and sent a ripple that shook me
I lost the only girl who ever made me sing
I tried to call out
I begged you to stay
My body couldn’t override the sting
I don’t remember the bar or the drink that had me
But darling I remember everything
Darling I remember everything
Darling I remember everything
Darling I Remember the Drink – Bobby Long
I can’t remember the time

New Song - Mumford & Sons
Love was kind
For a time
And now just aches
And it makes me blind
This mirror holds
My eyes too bright
That I can’t see the others in my life
Are we too young
Heads to strong
To bear the weight of these lovers arms
Cuz I feel numb
Beneath her tongue
Beneath the curse of these lovers arms
Do not ask the price I’ve paid
For I must live with my quiet rage
Tame the ghosts in my head
That run wild and wish me dead
Should you shake my eyes to the wind
Lord, forget all of my sins
Let me die where I lie
‘neath the curse of my lovers eyes
There’s no drink or drug I’ve tried
To rip the curse of these lovers eyes
Cuz I feel numb
Beneath your tongue
Strength just makes me feel less strong
Do not ask the price the price I’ve paid
For I must live with my quiet rage
Tame the ghosts in my head
That run wild and wish me dead
Should you shake my eyes to the wind
Lord, forget all of my sins
Let me die where I lie
Beneath the curse of my lovers eyes
Well I walk slow
I walk slow
Take my hand help me on my way
I walk slow
I walk slow
Take my hand help me on my way
And I walk slow
I walk slow
Take my hand help me on my way

Reading through Bobby's lyric book from the Winter Tale album and seeing all the mistakes I've made. Damn. Hope you guys haven't been completely relying on me for the past two years. It sure was fun though... (I'm obviously going to keep doing this no matter how wrong I was)

Sam Bradley lyrics! From his Zuni album, which you should buy on itunes if you haven't already.
Details – Sam Bradley
There are many details of a wishing well
That the penny’s sells, for me
See what I have found like when most are down
With their wishes drown, their peace
You’ve been looking up to hell
When you’ve been upside down
And did the angels wish you well
When they sent you to the ground
There are many details of a prison cell
That the state not wants you to see
Do you think of the men and their children
Their wives and their friends
?As you stop them to breathe?
You’ve been looking up to hell
When you’ve been upside down
Did the angels wish you well
When they sent you further down
The gods they say you’re praying all day
As forgiveness judge gave you time
And did you think it through
When the devil told you
To take an innocent life
So you’ve been looking up to hell
When you’ve been upside down
And did the angels wish you well
When they put you in the ground

I know there's a lot of Sam and Marcus songs I have to write out, but Bobby is kind of the easiest for me and plus I'm seeing him in concert soon which kinda puts me in Bobby moods more often than the others :)

What to Say – Bobby Long
Wait for time to turn
You callin’ my name again
Cheap talk and the same loose friends
Callin’ you
Stay young in my mind
In the windows that reflect the sun
Left on the movin push
Singin out loud
And now you’re far away
And nothing can take the pain
The trouble is on my brain
My brain, my brain, my brain
Cold on the bone and the borrowed dress
Sunday morning once more, once less
My word on a page, ruined in age
But now, you’re far away
And nothing can take the pain
The trouble is on my brain
My brain, my brain, my brain
I still don’t know
I still don’t know
I still don’t know what to say
What to say

Hello! It's been a while, hope you're well. Here's a new Bobby song, I thought there was a version on youtube that had different lyrics, if you find it, please let me know. But for now this is the video I got the lyrics from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3zDsd-H jgA&feature=related
Let Me Be - Bobby Long
Oh the sun cast the spell on your eyes
Wants me to weep into lies
The sorrow you felt in my heart
Was there all along at the start
In between the light and the dark
Something you’re born with and hope?
Will rise and fall like a smoke
Pure as the first time we laugh
Like a mother and a newborn…
How I wish I was still young
But you were too young to see
What the years have done to everyone
How they set them free
If I could ask one thing from you
Say a good word for me
And I’ll be better with someone
And maybe they’d all just let me be
The sun cast that spell on your eyes
Wants me to weep and to lie
Trouble you’ve felt in my heart
Was there all along at the start
In between the light and the dark
Something your born with at home
Rise and fall like a smoke
That comes from fire and ash
Pure as the first time we passed
Like a father and a newborn ….
How I wish we were still young
But you were too young to see
What the years have done to everyone
How they set us free
But if I could ask one thing from you
To say a good word for me
And I’ll be there with someone

Where You Lay - Bobby Long
So go to sleep
And close your eyes
Until the world doesn’t turn
I’ll be here
Right on your side
Just until you heal
You’ve been away
So have i
Change will come in our heart
Well drums will beat
Kings may fall
But blood don’t wash of your clothes
You may feel roads are better where you go (are a better way to go)
You may feel like you haven’t got a place to call home
But time is on you when you sleep
Pretty darling
Every face around will always make you weep
I’m not alone
Oh it’s time to lay down where you play
I’ll be the one to watch you lay
I’ll be the one to watch you lay
So let the weight fall from your arms
And let yourself hit the floor
No dark can touch
No heavy hand
No threat will sew off your call?
You may feel roads are better where you go (are a better way to go)
You may feel like you haven’t got a place to call home
But time is on you when you sleep
Pretty darling
And every face around will always make you weep
You’re not alone
Oh it’s time to lay down where you play
I’ll be the one to watch you lay
I’ll be the one to watch you lay

I'm aware that there are new songs up that i haven't yet written the lyrics to. I'm really sorry, I've been lazy. School is kinda taking over my life right now and it's not gonna get easier any time soon. However, when I feel stressed and overwhelmed I like to not do homework, so you might get lucky and get something new this week. I haven't forgotten about you blog, it's just that life is kind of getting in the way.
